While our teachers do use these resources to enhance the student learning process in the classroom, we encourage our parents and students to use these online tools outside the classroom to gather information and apply acquired knowledge.

This site has many opportunities for various ages to do mental math. It is meant to be enjoyable and develop a love for mathematics. It is a great way for children to practice and keep their math skills sharp during the summer months as well.

National Museum of Natural History
Take a virtual tour of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of Natural History.
"America's New Frontier"
Jefferson's West: An Electronic Field Trip from Colonial Williamsburg
An interactive site which will take students on a journey west with either Thomas Jefferson or Lewis and Clark. It has sound and motion and an interactive map.
Davey Crockett, Tall Tales, and History
This site has lesson plan ideas on Tall Tales including Davey Crockett and other famous Tall Tales. This site also provides information on poetry writing, literature and other subject areas.
The Civil War
The History Place: The U.S. Civil War
This site provides a timeline of the civil war but it also has excellent pictures of battlegrounds and important individuals during the civil war time period. These pictures would be great for a PowerPoint presentation giving an overview of the civil war.

This site has a map of the world along with detailed information about each continent and the oceans.

This site has maps, timelines, and other information for learning the make up of our country.
Funbrain: Where is That?
A great geography game your kids can play independently or you can demonstrate with the class. It has various levels for United States or world geography.
Immigration

The Revolutionary War Period
Revolutionary War Interactive Timeline
Elementary school students created this site. It contains a map and a picture with each date. It has some basic information for students to view independently or the teacher can present this timeline of the revolutionary war to the class.
The History Place: American Revolution
This site has actual pictures of battlegrounds and key individuals during this time period. It provides dates and a small paragraph about the event which occurred on the corresponding date.

This site is very interactive and allows you to show your students the various species that live in the city.

Fact Monster: Earth Timeline
This site is great to add to the pollution part of this science kit. It has a list of how people have affected the environment throughout the years.
"Making Sense of Science"
PBS Online: Balloon Race
This site is a perfect introduction into the floating and sinking unit. It asks the kids to imagine they are in a hot air balloon and why the balloon floats.
Molecular Expressions: Exploring the World of Optics and Microscopy
This incredible website allows you to click on various images that you may magnify as if you had a microscope. It can also be used to enhance science lessons by showing a video or a magnified image of an insect or outer space.
BrainPOP Science
This interactive website provides videos and pictures about any form of science and math.
Exploratorium Science Activities
This site leads you to several hand-on science activities for kids to explore.
