Food Services
The St. Augustine’s kitchen staff prepares nutritious lunches daily. Students have a choice of hot lunch, sandwich, soup, and salad. Desserts and healthy snacks are also available for purchase. Monthly menus are posted on the school web site and sent home with the students. Staff and parent volunteers supervise the students during their lunch period. We offer a safe environment for students with food allergies
Health Services
A full time registered nurse is available for immediate first aide and special needs. In addition, the school nurse provides yearly screenings for height, weight, vision, and hearing. Students receive instruction in health- related topics such as germ education, general safety, drug abuse prevention, and food allergy awareness. Two AED’s (Automatic External Defibrillators) are on site and training is provided to staff and parent volunteers in their use. Our students in grades six thru grade eight receive basic CPR training. Students in grade five participate in the SAFE (Substance Awareness for Empowerment) program presented by trained South Brunswick police officers. The South Brunswick Fire Department conducts a hands-on fire safety presentation to Pre-Kindergarten students every year.
To further ensure a safe environment for our students, all school staff and parent volunteers must partake in Protecting God’s Children. This certification program helps churches and religious organizations recognize, report, and prevent sexual abuse in children. Volunteers and staff participate in OSHA, CPR and Epi-Pen Training.
Special Services
Basic skills support and speech therapy are offered to students in need on a regular basis. Classroom modifications and support are also provided by the content teacher. After school help in a group setting is offered to students in content areas on an as needed basis. An on-staff licensed psychologist / guidance counselor may counsel students at the request of a parent, teacher, or student, as well as facilitate group counseling and parent education seminars.
